A medical fogger machine converts a compatible liquid formulation into a fine mist for controlled distribution within an approved area. ULV, or ultra-low-volume, foggers are commonly designed to produce small droplets and distribute them over a wider space than ordinary manual sprayers.

A fogger is an application device. Its effectiveness depends on the formulation placed inside it and whether that formulation is approved for fogging at the correct concentration and contact time.
