About Infusion Pump Stands With Patient Monitor Tray

Critically ill patients often need several infusions at the same time, delivered through syringe pumps and volumetric infusion pumps, along with continuous monitoring. When each device sits on a separate IV stand, locker or shelf, the bedside quickly becomes crowded. Cables and lines become tangled, and moving the patient takes extra time and staff.

An Infusion Pump Stand with Patient Monitor Tray brings these devices together on one mobile stand. Pumps clamp onto the pole, the monitor sits on the top tray, and infusion containers hang from the hooks. Divine Health Home Care supplies these stands for ICUs, NICUs, HDUs, operation theatres, emergency departments, wards and home ICU setups. Select the stand according to the number of pumps used per patient, the monitor size and the room layout.

Most infusion and syringe pumps attach to a pole with a built-in pole clamp. Before purchase, confirm that the stand’s pole diameter matches the clamp range of your pumps, and that there is enough vertical space for the number of pumps you plan to use.

Tighten each pump clamp fully and check that the pump does not slide or rotate. Mount heavier pumps lower on the pole to keep the centre of gravity low and the stand stable.

Syringe pumps should generally be positioned close to the level of the patient, as recommended by the pump manufacturer. Large height differences can affect delivery and increase the risk of siphoning.

IV hooks at the top of the pole hold fluid bags and bottles for gravity infusions and for volumetric pumps that draw from a bag. Hang containers evenly and do not exceed the hook load.

When several infusions run together, label each line and route it neatly from the container through the pump to the patient. This helps staff trace lines quickly and reduces the risk of connecting medicines to the wrong line. Lines should not be stretched, kinked or caught in castors when the stand moves.

A stand carrying several pumps, a monitor and infusion containers can become top-heavy. A wide, weighted base is essential.

Confirm the total safe working load of the stand, including the pole, tray and hooks, and keep the total weight within this limit. Place heavier devices lower on the pole, and avoid adding equipment to only one side of the stand.

Never use the stand as a support for patients or staff, and never hang bags or other unrelated items on it.
