About BPL Acura S1 Syringe Infusion Pump

The BPL Acura S1 Syringe Infusion Pump delivers medicines and fluids from a syringe at a controlled, programmed rate. It is designed for ICUs, NICUs, operation theatres, emergency departments and hospital wards where accurate, steady infusion is required. Supported syringe sizes, flow-rate range, bolus and KVO functions, alarms, battery backup and data features should be confirmed for the supplied model.

Many medicines used in critical care, including sedatives, inotropes, insulin, anticoagulants and analgesics, must be given at a precise and steady rate. Small variations in the rate can affect patient safety, so these infusions are commonly delivered using a syringe infusion pump.

The BPL Acura S1 is a single-channel syringe infusion pump from BPL Medical Technologies. Divine Health Home Care supplies the BPL Acura S1 to hospitals, ICUs, NICUs, operation theatres, emergency departments and nursing homes. Select the pump according to the clinical areas, types of infusions and syringe brands used in your facility.

A filled syringe is placed in the pump’s syringe holder and secured with a clamp. A motor-driven pusher moves the syringe plunger forward at the programmed rate, delivering the medicine through an extension line to the patient.

The pump monitors the infusion and raises alarms for conditions such as occlusion, near-empty or empty syringe, low battery, or an incorrectly loaded syringe. Confirm the exact alarm list for the supplied model.

Alarms help staff detect problems early. An occlusion alarm may indicate a kinked or clamped line, closed stopcock or blocked cannula. A near-empty alarm helps staff prepare the next syringe in time, so the infusion is not interrupted.

Staff should respond to every alarm promptly and identify the cause before restarting the infusion. Never silence or ignore alarms without checking the patient, line and pump.

A pump supports safe infusion but does not replace clinical monitoring of the patient.
